You’re engaged! Cue the champagne and the mild-to-moderate panic about planning photos. If you’re anything like me, you want pictures that feel honest and beautiful. The Tri-Cities’ tumbleweeds and strip malls might not initially scream “romantic backdrop,” but I swear some absolute gems are hiding out here. I’m spilling my top four favorite engagement photoshoot locations near Tri-Cities, WA. These are a few I always go back to—each a little different, unexpected, and full of character. One of them does involve pulling off the highway in Benton City and walking into a field, but I pinky promise I’m not kidnapping you. Just trust me. Let’s go.

Twin Sisters Rock
Twin Sisters Rock Formation is that moody, slightly mysterious “I would 100% shoot an indie film here” spot. It features textured rock formations, sagebrush swaying in the breeze, and wide-open skies perfect for golden hour. Oh, and of course, I can’t forget about the beautiful river view below.
This spot is just outside Wallula, WA—about 40 minutes from the Tri-Cities. It feels like a mini adventure but not so remote that you’ll need to pack a survival kit. There’s a little light hiking involved—nothing too wild. Fall and spring are the absolute dream seasons out here—when the weather isn’t trying to fry you like an egg on the sidewalk. Aim for those in-between seasons. Wear something flowy. The way the wind moves fabric here is chef’s kiss. You’ll look like a desert goddess.

Chiawana Park
Chiawana Park is classic, soft, and effortlessly pretty without even trying. You can just chill by the river and be cute; we all need that energy sometimes.
Located right in Pasco along the Columbia River, it’s super accessible and perfect for couples who want something low-key but still beautiful. There are wide-open grassy fields, tall trees that filter the light incredibly, and those calm, glowy river views. It’s the place for laid-back love, summer-evening vibes, and couples who just wanna soak each other in without climbing a damn hill to do it.

McBee Hill
McBee Hill is about to be your bestie if you’re down for a baby hike, wind, and many views. Perched above Benton City, this place delivers panoramic scenery. Is it windy? I won’t lie—this hill will test your relationship with your hair. But the wind also makes magic happen, so trust the process.
You might even catch wildflowers popping up in spring and summer, but in this case, Lexi and Tristan got snow.
More vibes like this in Alondra and Victor’s Horse Heaven Hills session.

Off the Hwy in Benton City (Just Trust)
Okay, I know “Meet me off the highway in Benton City; we’re gonna walk into this random field” sounds like Craigslist horror story vibes, but I promise you, this is not a setup. I am, however, here to take some of your life’s dreamiest, most romantic photos.
This spot is low-key—it’s just there. You literally pull off the highway, walk a bit, and then boom—golden hills, fields, and views that make you forget you’re 30 minutes from Costco. While it’s stunning year-round, golden hour here is a spiritual experience.
Pro tip: Wear something you can move in and toss a pair of practical shoes in the car. It’s a bit off the beaten path, which makes it special. You don’t need mountains or oceans to have jaw-dropping engagement photos. Sometimes, you need a field off the side of the highway, a little trust, and someone you really, really love.

That Wraps Up My Fave Tri-Cities Engagement Photoshoot Locations
What I love most about these engagement photoshoot locations—besides the obvious gorgeousness—is how each one brings out something completely different in the couples I photograph. Some people come alive running barefoot by the river; others thrive on windswept hills. A place that feels like you is out there—and I love helping people find it.
If you’re dreaming up your own engagement session and have no clue where to go (or you’re just ready to get into the great outdoors with someone who won’t make it weird), reach out. Let’s brainstorm together and plan something. Promise I’ll only take you to cool places.
