I’m so excited to share these gorgeous engagement photos with you that we did near Walla Walla. Alex and Tim are the third couple in their friend group whose wedding I’ve had the honor of photographing. It’s been so much fun getting to know them and their journey. For their session, we headed to Twin Sisters Rock, the (stunning) remnants that an old flood left behind. This spot is absolutely breathtaking. There are dramatic rock formations and beautiful views of the Columbia River – the perfect setting to celebrate their engagement and shared bond.

A Quick Journey to Twin Sisters Rock

To reach Twin Sisters Rock near Walla Walla, drive east from the Tri-Cities towards Walla Walla on I-182, which turns into Highway 12. About 17 miles past Pasco, you’ll reach a junction with Highway 730. Turn right onto 730 and drive about 1.8 miles. From Walla Walla, it’s 27 miles to the crossing of Highways 12/730, then 1.8 miles on Highway 730. The Twin Sisters pullout is across the road on the left, with a small parking area but no facilities. It’s a one-mile round-trip hike, just enough to stretch your legs and get a sweet view.

Alex and Tim’s Desert Engagement Photos Near Walla Walla

For Alex and Tim’s outfits, they nailed it with two ideal looks. The first was a neutral, casual vibe that blended with the natural surroundings. Then, they switched to a slightly dressier style: Alex rocked a white sundress while Tim looked sharp in a blue button-up, black pants, and sneakers. As for the creative process, scouting locations is key. I’ve done sessions here before so I already have an overall idea of the area. We found several perfect spots, including one with the pillar rocks as a backdrop, another with sandy terrain, and a stunning overlook of the Columbia River. Capturing their chemistry was easy; their connection was effortless.
