If European-inspired summer dinner parties and classic American road trips somehow had a wedding together, it might look a lot like Melissa and Simon’s Greenhouse on Harvard celebration. Butter yellow bridesmaid dresses, citrus-filled tablescapes, a vintage convertible, and sweeping countryside views created a wedding that felt elevated.

Adding another layer of meaning to the day was seeing familiar faces. A few years ago, I photographed Simon’s cousin, Kayley, and Cameron’s wedding, so being invited back to celebrate another chapter with their family felt incredibly special. Something is rewarding about becoming the photographer families continue to trust with their biggest milestones, and this day was a beautiful reminder of that.

A Modern Garden Party at Greenhouse on Harvard

Long reception tables encouraged guests to gather together, while candlelight softened the modern details as the evening unfolded. Every design choice worked together, proving that a restrained color palette often makes the strongest statement.

Sunshine, Rolling Hills, and a Vintage Convertible

By the time portraits began, a lot of the clouds had cleared, and the landscape around Greenhouse on Harvard looked completely different. The rolling hills surrounding the venue created a beautiful backdrop for Melissa and Simon to step away for a few quiet moments together before the celebration continued.

One of my favorite additions to the day was their vintage white convertible. It added a timeless touch to their portraits while giving them a chance to slow down, laugh together, and enjoy a few uninterrupted minutes as newlyweds. Sometimes the best portraits happen when couples stop thinking about the camera altogether.

Back at the reception, guests gathered around long tables, heartfelt toasts gave way to a packed dance floor, and the candy bar quickly became a favorite stop throughout the night. It was a reminder that the most memorable weddings are genuinely fun to experience.
