BEHIND THE SCENES

Kiana Lodge Wedding | Katie + Michael

Katie and Michael found me through The Knot for their wedding at Kiana Lodge. It was such an honor to shoot at this gem of a location. It’s true PNW charm—think lush greenery and gorgeous waterfront views. Even though we had some rain on and off, it only added to the classic Pacific Northwest vibe. We fully embraced the moody weather, making their bride and groom portraits along the forested pathway so dreamy and green. It was such a beautiful day, and I can’t wait for you to see their reception decor!

A Picture-Perfect Washington State Wedding Venue

Kiana Lodge is a drop. Dead. Gorgeous. Venue! Towering cedar trees surround it, and it really captures that magical PNW vibe that so many people long for. Katie and Michael held their reception in the stunning garden atrium, which felt like a dreamy greenhouse with a unique twist. I’d highly recommend this location to anyone looking for that lush, botanical feel without going for a traditional greenhouse venue. The natural setting elevated the wedding experience, making everything feel intimate and connected to the outdoors. But I have to credit the floral installations they chose, which were done by Ivy & Birch Design, because that pulled everything together. Someone get me a tissue because I’m still drooling over them.

Katie & Michael Tie the Knot at Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, WA

The ceremony was such a sweet moment, especially with the first look before everything kicked off. Michael was unquestionably excited when he saw Katie in her stunning dress! After they tied the knot, we headed out for some portraits, and I have to say, the forest shots turned out to be my favorites. The light filtering through the trees gave everything a fairytale vibe. Once we wrapped up with the photos, we all went back to the atrium for the reception. It was decorated beautifully, and I loved how the bridesmaids rocked those mismatched dresses in varying blues and patterns—it flowed perfectly! Katie and Michael opted for five smaller wedding cakes instead of one big one, which was such a fun twist. After the cake cutting, they shared their first dance and danced the night away with their guests—it was the perfect way to celebrate!
