I first met Danika and Kalena years ago at a styled shoot where they were modeling. From that moment, we just clicked. We’ve kept in touch over the years, so capturing their Mt. Spokane elopement was extra special. These two have a grounded and electric vibe. Mt. Spokane was the perfect spot for them to celebrate their love. Sure, some might overlook it as an elopement location, but the views up there are just as breathtaking and close to town. With wide landscapes of evergreens below, wild grasses, and a sense of quiet that makes you feel like you’re the only one in the world, it truly made their intimate ceremony feel like a fairytale come to life.
A Unique and Personal Mt. Spokane Elopement
Danika and Kalena’s elopement was packed with personal touches that made the day unique to them. They had a sweet first look with everyone smiling, and then there were those fantastic details—matching dog socks and Nike sneakers peeking out from under their dresses. Dresses that were black and white, for that matter, were so fun! It was a small, intimate ceremony with just their family and closest friends, making everything feel personal.
Danika and Kalena Elope on a Mountain
Danika and Kalena had this killer mountain view for their ceremony. Watching them exchange vows—just the two laughing and stealing sweet glances—was so moving. Afterward, we took portraits with the ski lifts and wildflowers around us. It was a hazy day, but it actually worked in our favor, giving everything a soft, almost ethereal light. They ended the day with a small, cozy dinner with their closest family and friends in this cute cottage-style building. It was simple, personal, and felt like exactly what they wanted. If you’re thinking about doing something similar, this is proof you can make it all about you and still have an unforgettable day.

“I met Kat at an elopement-styled photoshoot that my girlfriend (at the time) and I were modeling for back in 2019; I knew right away I wanted to keep her in mind for hopefully my future wedding. A few years later, I had the opportunity to co-shoot a wedding with her and instantly knew that she was someone I would love to have around on my own wedding day. Not only is Kat so amazingly talented with a camera, but she truly feels like having a friend hanging out with you as opposed to a hired professional. There truly were no other options in my mind when it came to our wedding photographer. Kat was it, and I am so beyond thankful for everything she did for us on our big day! Finding vendors as a same-sex couple can be a little scary, and I’m so thankful I didn’t need to worry about that with my photographer!”
